How Do You Fix A Scratched CD With Toothpaste?

0

There is nothing more frustrating then using an audio CD or DVD that continues to skip or not play at all. Scratches can affect not only your audio CD’s and DVD’s but any CD’s that you use for other data files as well. If you don’t have the files backed up it is likely important to you to fix the scratched CD so you can back it up and/or continue using it. To do so, all you need is a little bit of toothpaste and you can fill in those scratches with these easy steps. So before you buy some expensive cleaning chemicals or scratch repair machines, try this out! Step 1 Gather the CD or CD’s that are scratched and you are trying to fix. CD’s with large and deep scratches will likely not be salvageable but it’s worth giving them a try. Step 2 Grab a cotton pad and squeeze a small dime sized amount of toothpaste on it. If you don’t have a cotton pad a Q-tip or piece of soft cloth will work as well. Step 3 Apply the toothpaste to the recording surface (not the CD label side) that is scratched.
