How Do You Fix A Sagging Cabinet Door?
A sagging door can be quite annoying. Every time you close it, you have to lift up as well as push it closed or else let it sit ajar. The most likely cause of the sagging door is a loose upper hinge. It takes less than half an hour to fix and will be well worth the effort. Step 1 Remove the door and the hinges. Widen the screw holes by using a 3/16″ drill bit. Step 2 Get a 3/16″ dowel rod and cut it into pieces 1.5″ long cut as many pieces as you have screw holes. Step 3 Use a quick set epoxy glue to glue the dowel rods into the newly enlarged holes you made. Once the glue has set, use a chisel pr saw to remove the excess dowel rod so that the rod is even with the wood. Step 4 Reattach the hinge by drilling 1/8″ holes into the dowel rods. Step 5 In the hole closest to the door, screw a #8 2.5″ screw. Do not screw into the stud. Try the door. Adjust the screw in or out to adjust the door.
