How Do You Fix A Pull Down Kitchen Faucet That Is Leaking Inside The Cabinet?
My wife and I recently bought a new home that has a Moen pull down kitchen faucet. It is very useful however it has started to leak a couple of times. If you have one of these faucets and it is leaking into the cabinet beneath, trying this quick fix before you call a plumber may save you some time and money. This procedure may be similar for other brands of pull down faucets, check yours to make sure. The head of the faucet attaches to a flexible hose with a swivel fitting on the end. The neck of the faucet is a hollow tube. If the swivel fitting is not tightened properly to the head of the faucet, water will leak out of the fitting filling the hollow neck and flowing out of the base of the faucet into the cabinet below the sink. This fitting can loosen during use and cause a leak. Tighten by hand then use a pair of pliers to GENTLY tighten only slightly more to prevent the fitting from loosening. The fitting on the faucet head is plastic and can break easily if too much torque is appl
