How Do You Fix A Popped Nail In The Wall?
Nails that seem to suddenly pop out of the wall are a common problem in many homes. It makes no difference if you have an older home or a newer home, the nails can pop. Nails pop out of walls for a variety of reasons. The most common reasons for nail popping are the studs have dried and shrunk, the studs may have warped and twisted or the wrong nails were used to hang the drywall. Just hammering the nail back in place won’t work. The nail will work its way back out. Step 1 Remove the nail that has popped out of the wall. If the nail can’t be taken out easily, hammer the nail back in. Use a countersinking tool or another nail to force the nail deep into the stud. To countersink a nail, place the pointed end of the countersink tool or nail over the head of the existing nail and hammer it in so it is just below the surface of the drywall.
