The Playstation 2 Slim is a more compact, but functionally identical model of the original PS2. As with the original, the mechanism of the power button that clicks the PS2 “On” can become defective and no longer work. Fixing the power button does not require sending it into a service center, although you will be voiding the warranty by disassembling the PS2 Slim. No electrical skill is needed to fix the power button so that the PS2 Slim can be again used. Put the towel on a table. Remove all of the cables connected to the PS2 Slim. Put the PS2 Slim face down on the towel. Remove the six screws from the back edges on the bottom of the PS2 Slim using the Phillips jeweler’s screwdriver. Turn the PS2 Slim back face up.
