Computer images are nothing more than bits and bytes stored on the hard drive of your computer, just like any other file. Where a computer image becomes corrupted or distorted, the likely culprit is the integrity of your hard drive. Checking your drive for errors and correcting them will solve resultant issues with displaying images on your PC. This can be accomplished by using the disk-checking tool in the Windows operating system. Step 1 Click on the “Start” menu and click the “Run” button. Step 2 Type in “cmd” and press “Enter.” Step 3 Type in “chkdsk x:” and press “Enter,” where “x” is the drive letter of your hard drive containing the images. Step 4 Type in “chkdsk x: /f” and press “Enter” to fix problems if they are found during the scan performed in step three. Step 5 Reboot your computer.
