Luckily, fixing the controller is a fairly simple process that can have your controller working like new in a few minutes. Repairing Your N64 Controller Step 1 Unscrew all nine screws located on the back of the N64 controller. There are two located on the left grip, two on the right grip, one on the center grip, two in the center of the controller, and two smaller screws located in the Rumble Pak cavity. Place the screws aside. Step 2 Pull the back off of the controller carefully.
