When you must fix a leaking water pump on your Amana washer, you only have two possibilities–removing the obstruction within the pump ports causing a clog, or replacing the entire pump. The water pump connects under the motor in the front of the washer. Remove the motor assembly to gain access to the mounting bolts for the water pump. No repairs other than removing an obstruction are possible. Unplug the Amana washer power cord from the wall outlet. Turn off the water supply at the spigots on the wall. Remove the screws securing the lower access panel to the front of the washer with a nut driver. The screws are on the bottom edge of the access panel near the floor. Pull the access panel away from the washer. Remove the screws securing the front panel to the washer with the nut driver. The screws are on the bottom of each side of the front panel.
