How Do You Fix A Kenmore Dryer Heating Element?
Owners of Kenmore clothes dryers can save the cost of service calls if they know how to replace the heating elements when the dryers stop heating. The heating element is not repairable. Replacements are available at most appliance repair facilities. You will need the model number of your Kenmore dryer to get the correct part. Unplug the Kenmore dryer from the wall receptacle. Insert the blade of a putty knife between the bottom of the front panel and the top of the toe panel. Two retaining clips, 4 inches from each side, secure the toe panel. Press the retaining clips in with the putty knife and release the toe panel. Pull the toe panel away from the dryer. Locate the heating can that houses the heating element. The heating can is on the lower right-hand side of the dryer as you face it. Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the screw that secures the heat shield door to the front of the heating can. The wires connected to the heating element will now be visible. Use needle nose pliers
