How Do You Fix A Hard Drives Bad Sectors With Shareware?

0

Repairing bad sectors on a hard drive can be the difference between staying at home in your pajamas and running out to the store to spend hundreds of dollars on a new drive. Most modern hard drives have “spare” sectors stored away, should the primary ones become damaged or corrupted. There are many pieces of software on the market that allow you to detect and recover bad sectors. Fortunately, Drive Fitness Test (DFT) is a shareware program that will scan your hard drive, alert you of any bad sectors that may be present and attempt to fix them. Unfortunately, you will lose your data in the process, so make sure you have current backups. Navigate to the ImgBurn download page (see Resources section). Download the executable to a location you can easily locate later. Double-click the downloaded icon and follow the prompts to install ImgBurn. Make sure to create a shortcut on your desktop. Double-click the shortcut to launch the program. Navigate to the DFT download site (see Resources sect
