How Do You Fix A Dent In A Metal Door?
Accidents happen, metal doors get dented. Metal doors are expensive and just because it was dented it does not mean it has to be replaced. If your metal door is dented, don’t despair it can be fixed. Repairing a dent in a metal door takes a little skill and a little knowledge. Step 1 Use a medium grit sandpaper to sand the dent and about 1 inch around it. Sand the area to remove the paint and primer and expose the metal underneath. Step 2 Buy body filler which is normally used for cars. You can either buy premixed body filler or body filler you need to mix yourself. Body filler is available at auto parts stores. Step 3 Apply the body filler with a spackle knife to fill the dent. Apply the body filler slightly higher than the surface of the door. Step 4 Allow the body filler to dry completely. Usually overnight. Step 5 Sand the body filler with a medium grit sandpaper then a fine grit sand paper until the body filler is flush with the surface of the door. Paint the area with primer, all
