How Do You Fix A Computer That Says “NTLDR Missing”?
If your computer’s NTLDR files are damaged, the computer will give you a message saying that the NTLDR is missing when you try to start up your computer. You are unable to boot your computer when this problem is occurring because the NTLDR files help control the boot process for the Windows XP operating system. Fortunately, you can fix this problem if you have a Windows XP CD available. Put the Windows XP installation CD into your computer and restart the computer. Wait for “Press any key to boot from CD” to appear on the screen and then press the “Enter” key. Press “R” to open the Recovery Console. Log in to the Recovery Console by pressing “1,” pressing “Enter” and then typing in the Administrator password for your computer (if necessary). Type “copy x:\i386\ntldr c:\” into the Recovery Console and press “Enter.” Type “copy x:\i386\ntdetect.com c:\” into the Recovery Console and press “Enter” again, where “x:\” is the drive letter of your computer’s CD drive. Restart your computer.
