How Do You Fix A Car With Water In The Gas Tank?
A variety of accidents can occur that lead to water in your gas tank. You may have left your gas door open while driving or while going through a car wash. The gas cap may not have been screwed on properly. Either way, water in your gas tank is not good for your vehicle. It can rust your tank and cylinders in your engine. This leads to quick wear of your engine. Eliminate water in your tank easily with just a few steps. Slide under the rear of your car under the gas tank. Unscrew the gas line coming from your gas tank and connecting to the back side of your fuel filter. Drain all the gas from your tank. Reconnect the gas line to the fuel filter. Fill your gas tank halfway. Add 1 cup of rubbing alcohol to your tank (the alcohol removes any excess water via evaporation).
