How Do You Fix A Broken Light Bulb?
A broken light bulb can be a hassle to change. It cannot simply be unscrewed because the jagged edges could cut you while you’re working. There is an easy way to fix a broken bulb, however. Learn how to replace a broken light bulb without cutting or hurting yourself. Step 1 Cut a potato in half. Put on protective gloves and safety glasses to keep from being cut by falling pieces of glass. Step 2 Unplug the lamp and place it in a trash bag, or turn off the light switch to an overhead light and have a helper hold open a trash bag underneath you while you’re working. Step 3 Push the side of the potato you cut onto the broken light bulb. Take your time so the broken glass is stuck firmly inside the potato. The trash bag should catch shards that break off, and your gloves and safety glasses will protect you from cuts. Step 4 Twist the potato counter-clockwise to unscrew the broken bulb.
