If your Compaq computer presents nothing but a blank screen when you push the “Power” button, it is important to determine the source of the problem. There are a number of issues that could cause your PC to display a blank screen, and working through those possible causes one at a time is the best way to get your computer back in service as quickly as possible. Listen to the computer after you press the “Power” button. If you do not hear any beeps or other noises, the power supply may have failed. Remove your computer’s cover by locating and removing the retaining screws on the back of the case and pulling the case-release lever.
