How Do You Finish A White Oak Veneer?

0

Finishing white oak veneer is similar to finishing other types of veneers. Oak, by its nature, has wider gaps in its grain that can result in the grain being visible under the finish. In some cases, this grain pattern under the finish can be aesthetically pleasing. In other cases, however, you may want to fill the grain for a very smooth finish. Sand your furniture made with white oak veneer with 120-grit sandpaper. Veneer can be very thin, especially on furniture that may have been refinished several times. Sand as little as possible to create a smooth finish. Wipe the veneer down with a damp cloth to remove the sawdust created by sanding. Sand the furniture with 220-grit sandpaper and wipe it down again to remove any dust. Spray a thin layer of wood stain on the veneer and allow it to dry. Gently sand the stained wood with 220-grit sandpaper after the stain has dried. You are simply smoothing the surface. Don’t sand so much that you remove the stain or more wood. Wipe the veneer down
