How Do You Find The Gender For Flowerhorn Fishes?
If they are close to adult age, as stated above the males will develope a hump on their heads. If you are wanting to find the gender of a young flowerhorn, you can vent them. The will have 2 holes on their underside, one is their anal hole which is closest to the head and their vent or sex hole is closest to the tale. In females their vent hole is usually larger than their anal hole and looks like oO. In males their vent is similar in size like oo. You will have to take them out of the water and I suggest keeping them in a net to help you hold them firmly upsidedown without risking dropping them.
