Under the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), the United States Department of Homeland Security through the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency can detain and/or deport a foreigner or foreign family located within the United States for a wide array of reasons of public concern such as criminal behavior or health, economic or national security concerns. The success of finding a deported person or family depends on a number of factors including the records maintained by agencies and departments within the U.S. and in country of origin, your relationship to the deported person or family and the amount of time that has passed since the deportation occurred.
