A couple of years ago when we were moving to a new home, I inquired about buying moving boxes and was shocked by the prices. I decided to look around and was able to find all of our moving and storages boxes for free. Here’s how. Go to your local grocery store or pharmacy (Target and Walmart are also great stores to try). Inquire about their delivery day (most stores have one or two designated deliveries per week). Ask the manager to hold boxes to the side for you to pick up on the designated day. Check dumpsters. Now, I’m not suggesting you go digging in dumpters here but sometimes you can score a lot of newly collapsed boxes right after they’ve been put out. The key here is “right after they’ve been put out”. You don’t want boxes that have been sitting out collecting bugs or getting wet from the elements. Ask your builder.
