Choosing that perfect candle can really be a guessing game. Use the following steps to find a long lasting candle. Look for a candle that is labeled with the estimated burning hours. A good jar candle or polar candle has a burning time listed. Lift the candle. If it feels much lighter than it should, it’s probably made with a lot of air in the wax. These candles tend to burn fast. Feel the wick. A good wick is solid, not limp. It should also be about the thickness of a piece of yarn or a little less to ensure the longest burn time. Choose a jar candle for a safer, long lasting burn time. Burn jar candles until they won’t light anymore. Pick a pillar candle if it says it’s a long lasting candle. Be prepared to throw it away as soon as it starts to burn uneven. A dripping, leaning pillar candle is a fire hazard.
