How Do You Find Great Web Sites For Young Children?
With children going online and discovering new web sites and games it can be hard to know all of the content available. This article will give you some wonderful web sites for children as young as 6 and resources for parents. I run a computer lab at a local Boys & Girls Club and am all too familiar with the different subliminal, commercial and obvious messages that certain games, web sites and music that our children are interested in. Our computer lab is open to children in K-12th grade and I have an approved list of sites the children can visit. I’m proud to say that most kids(even the teens) have at least one site that they love that is completely safe. First, you want to find out how much online experience your child has had at school. They need to be familiar with the links they can click on, by recognizing that the arrow turns to a hand. They also need to know not to click on anything in the margins that may be an advertisement.
