But comfortable heels don’t have to be Italian. You can find them anywhere if you know how to look for them. Put a small ruler in your purse before going shoe shopping. Measure the heels of every pair you like. Only consider heels lower than three inches when looking at shoes without platforms under the toe areas. Measure the platform if there is one under the toe. The front platform should be less than one inch thick. Otherwise you won’t feel the ground and may easily fall. Make sure the height difference between toe and heel is no more than three inches. Measure the diameter of the heel, which has to be more than three-quarters of an inch, even if you prefer stilettos (a three-quarter diameter should look thin enough).
