How Do You Find Cheap Hotels In Grand Island, Nebraska?
Situated, as its name suggests, between the Platte and Loup Rivers, Grand Island, Nebraska is a true town of the heartland. Named by French fur trappers who passed through the area in the early 19th century, Grand Island is now Nebraska’s fourth-largest city. But with a population of 43,000, this “City of Kindness” is closer to being a town–and one well worth a stop. Understand that Grand Island is just 100 miles from the state capital in Lincoln, but it’s a world apart. Grand Island is a small town but with strong civic pride. It sits conveniently on the Interstate 80 artery west of both Lincoln and Omaha. Contact the Grand Island Convention and Visitors Bureau (see Web site, below) before you go and you’re likely to get the royal treatment and lots of helpful advice. Take the California Zephyr line of Amtrak instead of driving and enjoy a stop in Grand Island.
