How Do You Find Campgrounds In Grand Haven, Michigan?
Grand Haven, Michigan is on Lake Michigan, at the mouth of the Grand River. It was founded as a fishing, shipping and lumbering town, but is now a tourist destination. With its clean, sandy beaches, wide walkways along the Grand River and delightful little shops, it’s a wonderful summer tourist destination. Grand Haven and small surrounding towns are full of campgrounds, large and small for the RV camper and the tent camper. Start by driving around “The Oval” at Grand Haven State Park, 1001 Harbor Avenue. A 48 acre park with a beautiful sandy beach, it has 174 modern campsites on pavement, a picnic area, and playground equipment. Each campsite has electric and water facilities. Bathhouses are available for hot showers. Pets are allowed, but must be kept leashed. The pier and lighthouse and the boardwalk from the park offer great photograph opportunities. Because of the Lake Michigan storms, metal detecting is a favorite visitor’s sport. Join the West Michigan Boaters & Campers, 15101 1
