How Do You Find A Mac Address By The Network Device?
Almost all Network adapters have a MAC address, or Media Access Control address. This is a unique code made up of both numbers and letters and containing several dashes. This number identifies the network cards while at the same time encoding their registered ID number. All modern versions of Windows let users find the MAC address by using the ipconfig utility in the command prompt. This utility can also show you your computer’s IP address and other important internet configuration settings. Click the “Start” menu. For Vista, enter “cmd” in the search bar and press “Enter.” For XP, click “Run,” type “cmd,” and press “Enter.” Type “ipconfig /all” and press “Enter” to run the command. The MAC Address will be located across from the line “Physical Device.” You might see more than one “Physical Device” because devices have different MAC addresses.
