In an article observing Taylor Guitars’ first 30 years in business in 2004, “Acoustic Guitar” magazine recognized the innovations that Taylor has introduced to improve quality control and reduce the cost of building guitars. These include using computer controlled machines and an ultraviolet curing process for finishes. To make certain that guitar repairmen understand the design and construction of Taylor Guitars, the company trains repair technicians at their factory and certifies repair centers. Repairmen learn how to fix cracks in a Taylor guitar, how to apply the finish, proper humidification and how to set up a guitar to Taylor factory specifications.
