With the job market shrinking in many industries, it is important to look globally. The international job market provides an amazing opportunity for one to find a job that allows one the flexibility of travel while bringing home a great paycheck. It also allows one to be able to work without fear of losing your job. The first thing you will need to do is to market yourself appropriately. If you do not know another language, it is advisable to start taking classes or to get language CDs. Having a working knowledge (being able to read and understand) of a language such as French sets you apart when applying for an international job. Organizations such as the United Nations (UN) and its agencies require that you rank your language knowledge.
