How Do You Fill A Fish Tank With Gravel?

0

With the proper planning and preparation having a fish tank can be fun and a very rewarding experience. Studies show that watching fish swim is very relaxing and reduces tension, lowers respiration and pulse rates and provides relief from every day stresses. Purchase enough gravel to cover the bottom of your fish tank, approximately three inches deep. Label a plastic 5 gallon bucket, “for tank use only.” Use this bucket for tank care only. Place a large strainer, over the bucket. Fill the strainer halfway with gravel. Pour the water over the gravel in the strainer, while gently shaking the strainer. Continue to pour the water over the gravel until the water is clear. Several washings are usually necessary. Place the washed gravel directly into your fish tank. Repeat Steps 4 and 5 until you have washed enough gravel to fill your fish tank.
