Aloe vera is a tender succulent plant grown as a houseplant throughout the world, and in the garden in very warm climates. A member of the lily family, the plant has small, insignificant blooms, and thick, blade-like leaves that grow from the plant base in a rosette configuration. The gum resin inside the leaves of Aloe vera relieves pain and sting of small cuts and burns, and has anti-bacterial properties, as well.
