The Woodland Park Zoo-based Tree Kangaroo Conservation Program (TKCP) will be featured tonight on a segment of ABC World News and ABC Nightline, Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at 5:30 p.m. PST and 11:30 p.m. PST on KOMO 4 TV or your local ABC affiliate channel. The zoo’s Dr. Lisa Dabek has taken part in an expedition in the remote cloud forests of the Huon Peninsula in Papua New Guinea. The expedition team fitted two wild tree kangaroos with collars carrying National Geographic Crittercams. The tiny cameras captured hours of video from the perspective of the tree kangaroos high in the canopy and provided new insights into the natural behavior of wild tree kangaroos.
