How do you feel about Obama discontinuing F-22 Raptor production?
A good idea – the Raptor is far to limited in it’s mission objectives to produce it beyond the numbers we already have. Now we can properly fund the F35 program and give our military something they WILL NEED in the battlefeild of tomorrow – a new multipurpose fighter / attack aircraft instead of a single purpose air superiority fighter. Even the Russians only build a few hundred pure air defence fighters at a time – the real backbone of the air force is tactial multipurpose aircraft – fighter – bombers. Anyway – the Raptor program was an overpriced pork belly program that needed a final cut off date. Once you added up the entire program cost including modifications to existing units each one of those toys cost the taxpayer about half a BILLION a piece! Nuts to that!
