How do you feel about excessive CEO pay by big business?

Who can say what is excessive CEO pay? That’s a business decision. If stockholders believe that the CEO is overpaid, then they can sell the company stock, and others can refrain from buying the stock to buy the stock. The price of the stock will then go down, and the company will have less money to use and will have to depend more and more on its profitability alone. The problem I see is that if the government gets into business and starts regulating bonuses and salaries, we are becoming socialists. Government needs to stay out of religion and out of business except in the sense of ensuring that businesses comply with the law so as to prevent abuse of employees, and fraud against the consumer. In a capitalistic society, which has proven to be the best kind of society economically, government should stay out of business decisions. Suppose 2 companies, ABC and DEF make and sell the same product. If ABC Company wants to pay it’s CEO $10,000,000.00 and company DEF chooses to pay $1,000,000
