No matter how busy the sidewalks are and even with a do at your own risk sign up It is still not a good idea to allow skateboarding on the sidewalks. Come on we all know that even the slowest traffic and least amount of folks walking there is Still a chance someone can get hurt be it the skateboarder or the other party We also all know even with that Do at your own risk sign that as Soon ad little Johnny breaks a bone his mummy and daddy will be in the courthouse pitching a glorified fit about why isn’t something done and where were the cops and why is this allowed and then they will get their lawyers and try to sue the city as well as whatever business lil Johnny was in front of when it happened.

To be honest I don’t know much about the stricter skateboarding laws. I do, however, think it sucks if there are tougher laws, without setting up areas for kids to skateboard legally and safely. To be honest, I’ve written skateboarder tickets, and I’ve issued warnings, depends on the cirumstances. Never “beaten up” and “tackled” anyone during my career who hasn’t directly contributed to that happening by their own conduct.
