How do you feel about Christianity in relation to other world religions?
I practice Zen Buddhism, but I was raised as a Christian. I studied world religions in depth for a number of years, and I’ve been sort of a “fan” of religion for quite some time, in the sense that I find it a fascinating topic. Christianity isn’t all one thing — there are many different flavors, from the fundamentalist Baptist railing from the pulpit about the wickedness of the world, to the Trappist monk bathed in meditation on the love of Christ. I’m sure nobody would read a book-length answer to your question here, but I could go on and on about Christianity in relation to other world religions. To keep it brief, I would summarize with “Christianity works” — i.e. it performs what I would consider to be the basic function of religion — to provide a structured path for spiritual development.
