How do you feel about Californias Prop 8 (Anti-Gay-Marriage proposition) being passed?
Personally, I am shocked and disgusted and angry. I never thought it would pass, and I’m am amazed at the result. The Pro-Prop 8 campaign was sending out bogus television ads about how the prop will stop the teaching of gay marriage in elemenatary schools, when schools were never teaching anything about marriage in the first place. Of course, anti-Prop 8 campaigners rebutted it with a message from an educational official, stating that public schools don’t teach anything about marriage, and that the prop doesn’t have anything about changing educational limitations, and will affect gay marriage only. The fact that the Pro-Prop 8-ers were lying to the public about the propisition made me believe that it would make the public angry enough to vote ‘no’ on it. Now, I find out that the propistion not only passes, and gay marriage is illegal in California now, but that it will retroatively affect all present gay marriages, which is unconstitutional.
