How do you feel about being called the Jane Goodall of tree kangaroos?
It humbles me. I never thought that I would be compared to Jane Goodall. I do feel like I have devoted my life to (tree kangaroos) and so it makes me happy to be associated with them. But, really, what’s important to me is not to be the star or anything like that, but just that these animals are getting attention. Because 20 years ago, when I started working with them, nobody really knew what tree kangaroos were at all. So for me, having this book come out is like a dream come true because their story — not my story — is being told.
