How do you feed two adults and a 15 month old nutritiously on a very low budget?
Put your foot down. Ditch the junk food it is too expensive. Buy two for one at the supermarket. Your 15 month old needs to be taught to eat what is given as long as it is well prepared. There are lots of foods that can be prepared without a cooker just a hob or gas rings. In supermarkets they have special offer stands that sell things that are near the sell by date, use them. KEEP OFF ORGANIC. they are mostly expensive rip offs.If you have a dry bread purse do not try to buy caviar. Make sure you are getting all the benefits you are entitled to. If in doubt see the CAB. Best of luck. Most of us have been through this.
I know it’s tough to get a baby to try new foods, and you don’t want to splash out on expensive things to try out if you’re on a budget. However, when he’s that little you have to keep at it encouraging him to try new things or he could end up on ‘Freaky Eaters’ in the future! Obviously you can’t force feed but if he’s allowed to be fussy now it’ll only get worse. Vitamin supplements are also a good idea – there are several brands aimed at kids so he’ll think he’s getting a sweet. Also most supermarkets own brand ‘no frills’ juice is quite cheap and good to stock up on the vits.
