How Do You Feed A Pet Rodent?
Pet rodents look similar but have different food requirements. Rats, mice, gerbils, hamsters, chinchillas and guinea pigs all are rodents. Overall, feeding a pet rodent is pretty easy and just requires buying some extra fresh vegetables and visiting the pet store once a month. Visit a pet store or discount store and purchase a small food dispenser and a water bottle that hangs on your pet’s cage. Purchase a hanging food dispenser and your pet won’t knock over or contaminate its food. Glass water bottles with metal tubes are great since rodents love to chew on the plastic varieties. Fill and hang the water tube according to the instructions. Never let the tube go empty and clean it daily. Purchase a box of food pellets or mixes from the pet or discount store. Read the label on the box and make sure it is made for your type of rodent. Fill your pet’s food container once a day. Monitor your pet and see what, when and how much it eats.
