Allow it to set for up to 2 hours. Blot the area with a wet cloth after the hydrogen peroxide mixture has set in the carpet. Follow it up with a dry cloth. Allow the spot to dry. If the red wine stain is still there, repeat Steps 1 through 3. To fade an old red wine stain in clothing or linens, first saturate the spot with water. Prepare a mixture of five parts
