How Do You Facilitate Communication Between Mormons And Evangelicals?
Mormons, or members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and evangelicals have been fighting a war of words for decades. With all the name-calling and heated debates going on between the two, it can be hard to tell what those on each side actually believe. Regardless, knowing the basics of what each side believes is crucial to communication. According to the Foundation for Ancient Research and Mormon Studies, “A Christian is a person who accepts Jesus Christ as, uniquely, his or her Lord and Redeemer.” Based on this definition, Mormons consider many groups Christian including Catholics, Baptists and Jehovah’s Witnesses. Evangelicals generally use the same definition Mormons do, but they add a significant caveat.
