How Do You Explore Montanas Big Sky Back Country Byway?
For a diversion to the same ol’ grind of traveling in Eastern Montana, try the brand new travel route called the Big Sky Back Country Byway. Plan to take some pictures of the two rivers that link together as they flow through their course. They are the Yellowstone River and the Missouri River. The route also uses a part of the Regina-Yellowstone (R-Y) Trail. This trail was used by Canadians to reach the Yellowstone National Park. The trail provides a view of the badlands, farms, grasslands, prairies, and scenic buttes. The byway provides information kiosks to help locate places and understand the historical and scientific values of the area. This byway is 105 miles long and takes about 3-4 hours to travel through. Access the Big Sky Back Country Byway from the south by taking the Terry, Montana, exit (#176) off of Interstate 94 in Eastern Montana. Look for the sign and information kiosk for directions near Terry. Pass Terry and Wolf Point, and head south on Highway 13, east of Wolf Poi
