How do you explain the Big Bang theory to a child?

0

To explain it to your child you must understand it yourself. The big bang is complicated. First of all you have to understand that no matter where you are in the universe you are always in the middle of it. Look at the tip of your finger, that is where the big bang started as is any other point. This might sound crazy but it’s true. When the universe started to expand from an infinitely small point so did space and time as we know it. So we cannot leave this universe and if we tried we would end up back to where we started. We have no idea what caused the big bang or why it continues to expand. We just have a lot of evidence that it’s true. A way to look at it is if you had a spherical sponge and squished it into a small ball and then let it expand, only there is no edge to the universe. Good Luck!!!
