How Do You Explain Man-Made Disasters To Kids From Developing Countries?
The causes of most disasters are traceable to human activities. Unfortunately, the mainstream media around the globe has been trying to downplay the environmental issues in favor of the economy. For years, the oil cartels have been funding anti-climate activities in a way to undermine the global green movement [1-5]. More importantly, not every country’s government is enlightened enough to appreciate the work by the grassroots activists. Not every kid around the globe has the luxury to access the internet. Even though they might have an internet access, not many of them would care to access foreign websites that are not presented in their own languages. Most people in the developing countries have to rely on the first hand information, usually from the main stream media, their governments, their parents, their doctors, or their teachers.
