Godly fear leads one to repentance. There is nothing wrong with teaching children any part of Scripture. The real problem is NOT teaching them. All children should be taught the real truth and how to worship and serve God. To fail here is to send them to hell. It leads to some of the same kind of evil speaking and unbelief which is portrayed here. When you see people who have no fear of God, and fear not to speak evil of him, and to joke about him, that is sad and a person who probably was not taught about God as a child.
