How Do You Erase In Charcoal Drawing?

One of the advantages of using a gum eraser is lets say you got some tones in there that you like to try to eliminate. Cause once you stood back and looked at the entire piece you’ve decided that some of this could be easier or better representative if it had less shading or blending of some inside areas. In this particular case I’m looking at the water I’m saying there’s a lot of blending in there, and I want to increase my highlights. So I’m going to use the eraser to get in tight particularly where your areas are really tight as far as your highlights and of course very fine areas and tightness. You want to be able to make sure that you can get in close a gum eraser can be very handy for that, particularly like in this instance I’m doing it around a lettering on the back end of the boat.
