Although your iPod may house all of your favorite movies, music and podcasts, sometimes it may become necessary to erase your iPod. Whether you are following some troubleshooting steps or want to reorganize your media, deleting everything from an iPod is a fairly simple process, and involves performing what is known as a “factory restore.” Open the iTunes program and then connect your iPod to your computer using the iPod-specific USB cord that came with your device. When the connection between your computer and the device has been established, a small iPod icon will appear in iTunes’ left pane. Double-click on the small iPod icon on the left pane.
