Over the next 10 years community colleges and universities will have the challenge of providing an educational framework that responds to an increasingly diverse student body. We need to begin looking at our general education requirements to ensure that our curriculum provides an opportunity for students to gain a global perspective, appreciating the unique qualities and characteristics of various cultures. Do you believe that ethnic diversity education should be synthesized and become required curriculum in America’s classrooms, beginning in elementary schools and continuing into colleges and universities? If so, why; if not, why not? Experience is a great teacher.
