How Do You Enter The London Marathon?
• Submit your online ballot entry on opening day in May. The 2011 race reached the maximum number of entries (125,000 British residents and 5,500 foreigners) and closed before the end of opening day! Expatriates may be unsuccessful at entering the London Marathon through the ballot system for British residents. • Receive notification by mail in October of whether or not your London Marathon entry was accepted. Bring your registration form and photo ID to the Virgin London Marathon Expo, which runs Wednesday through Saturday before the marathon day, to receive your number, timing tag and bag to put your belongings in on race day. Overseas runners need to register at the designated desks at the Expo. • Enter through the Good for Age system, if you had a particularly fast marathon time within the previous 2 years.
