How Do You Enjoy The Ice Festival In Harbin, China?
Harbin, China, hosts the Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival each year in early January. It is a must-see event for tourists in China, but be prepared for some tough weather. The festival is outside and the temperatures can be -20 degrees C. Dress appropriately for being outside in -20 C weather. Walking around the festival will help keep you warm, but be prepared with many layers of clothing. Catch the snow-carving festival during the daylight hours, just across the Songhua River. It has ice-lanterns as well, but does not compare to seeing the Ice Festival at night. Take a break to warm up at one of the coffee shops or restaurants on the pedestrian-only street, Zhongyang Dajie, as you approach the river. Visit the ice-lantern exhibition in Zhaolin Park after dark for the most spectacular view of the lights, people and music. Make an extra round through the ice carvings. There is so much to see that it is easy to miss something on the first trip. The details you’ll see
