How Do You Enjoy The Historic Center Of Beautiful Morelia Mexico?
Take a step back in time with a visit to the historic center of Morelia, Mexico, an architectural gem located about 200 miles west of Mexico City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with many colonial era stone structures and cobblestone streets. Morelias historic center is anchored by a beautiful cathedral built with pink stone next to a well groomed park (named a ‘zocalo’) which is equivalent to a town square here in the USA. My family and I discovered Morelia quite by accident. While planning a trip to nearby Guanajuato (pronounced wana-wato) from our home near Houston, an overbooked flight led us to travel there via Morelias General Francisco Mujica International Airport. Arriving late in the day, the decision was made to stay the night and take the bus to Guanajuato in the morning.
